A rather jaunty statue of James Joyce in Trieste, Italy. He lived there for nearly twenty years, interrupted only by World War One, and has since become quite the tourist attraction in the city. There's this rather wonderful statue, a James Joyce Trail and a James Joyce Summer School at the university. I wrote an article on Trieste and James Joyce for Europe Up Close.
